Cargo turnover at the ports of the Far Eastern Basin of the Russian Federation increased by 7.1% in 5 months

The cargo turnover of the ports of the Far Eastern Basin of the Russian Federation in January-May 2019 amounted to 86.42 million tons, which exceeds the figure for the same period last year by 7.1%. Transshipment of dry cargo reached 53.9 million tons (+ 8.1%), bulk cargo - 32.52 million tons (+ 5.4%), according to the Association of Sea Trade Ports of the Russian Federation.

Growth rates in the basin’s cargo turnover have decreased, but are at a high level of 7% -8%. In the future, an uneven decline in growth rates is expected, taking into account the effect of a high base.

The cargo turnover of the port of Vostochny during the reporting period amounted to 30.59 million tons, which is 6.3% more than in January-May 2018. The port of Vanino increased cargo handling by 8.6%, to 13.52 million tons, Nakhodka - by 7%, to 10.86 million tons. Cargo turnover at the port of Vladivostok grew by 9%, to 8.99 million tons, De-Kastri - by 25.7%, to 6 million tons. Prigorodnoye Port reduced cargo handling by 10.6% to 6.94 million tons. Other basin ports handled 9.6 million tons (+ 11.7%).

The stevedoring company Transneft Port Kozmino LLC handled 13.47 million tons (+ 8.5%), Vostochny Port JSC - 10.91 million tons (+ 7.8%), Daltransugol CJSC - 8.98 million tons (+ 2.6%).
