In the Slavyansk region of the Krasnodar Territory, construction began on a fruit storage facility with a capacity of 60 thousand tons of agricultural products: peaches, apples, cherries, strawberries, the press service of the regional administration reports. Its construction is planned to be completed by 2022. Investment in the project is tentatively estimated at 3 billion rubles. It will be implemented by Sad-Gigant JSC. The company signed a corresponding agreement with the regional administration this year at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.
- Kuban apples should be on the tables of the inhabitants of the country year-round. We are committed to this. For this, of course, you need to build more fruit storage facilities. Today we have capacities capable of storing 223,000 tons of products at a time. In the coming years, we intend to double them, - shared the strategic plans of the vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory Andrey Korobka.
According to Sad-Gigant JSC, the company's land is 3,500 hectares. At the end of 2018, the gross harvest of fruits and berries in the company increased by 35%, to 105,368 thousand tons. Apple production grew by 35%, to 99.189 thousand tons, pears - by 17%, to 1 thousand tons, plums - 1.5 times, to 4.4 thousand tons, peaches - by 24%, to 366 tons.
