Rail Cargo Group (RCG) - the freight operator of the Austrian federal railway operator ÖBB - announced the launch of a new regular railway route connecting China and Hungary through Kazakhstan and Ukraine. According to TASS, RCG successfully completed a trial shipment of a container train along a new route through Alashankou / Dostyk at the Chinese-Kazakhstan border and Batevo / Epereshka at the border of Vengia and Ukraine.

The company notes that currently goods from China are mainly shipped to Hungary through the port of Piraeus or other ports of the Adriatic, as well as through the main transcontinental corridors.

The first train from Xi'an arrived at the BILK railway cargo terminal on the southern outskirts of Budapest in a record short time of 10 days.
