Exports float predominantly through Northwest ports

The loading on the networks of JSC “Russian Railways” to the seaports according to the results of Q1 increased by 5%, exceeding 80.6 million tons, the southern harbors didn’t get much — about 20.6 million tons. The indicator was improved by increasing the transportation of ore by 23.1%, coal by 11.7%, oil by 6.5%, timber cargo by 4.4% and paper by 3.2%.

In the reporting period, the loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West exceeded 33.7 million tons (+ 1.3%), the South - about 20.6 million tons (+ 6.7%), the Far East - more than 26.3 million tons (+ 8.8%). Mostly coal is exported through ports abroad. Its share in the export flow in the first quarter was 47%.

In the reporting period, tariffs for freight turnover increased by 2.4%, said Oleg Belozerov, General Director, Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, at a conference call. And taking into account the mileage of private cars in the empty state - by 2.5% compared to the corresponding period last year. In the first quarter, more than 300 million tons were shipped, which is 0.7% higher than last year.
