On August 21, having overcome 10 thousand km in 15 days, the first train with timber from Nizhny Novgorod arrived in Rizhao (Shandong Province).
The train brought 45 containers with birch to Rizhao. The train crossed the border at the Eren-Hoto station. The shipment is for the Shandong Limeng wood processing center located in Lujiao. Timber will be delivered on this route regularly.
Guan Lei, head of the Sino-Russian Nizhny Novgorod forest industry and trade cooperation zone, told reporters in the Shandong media that his company, established in Russia, is a subsidiary of Nordic Forestry. The company manages 45 thousand hectares of forest land and 2 square meters. km of forest processing areas, as well as 33 zones of wood drying. The company plans to increase timber imports from Russia. The opening of a regular route for the delivery of timber from the Nizhny Novgorod region will contribute to this.
