On April 17, the first container train to Taicang (Jiangsu Province) departed from Yueyang Station (Hunan Province) for the first time by train.
The cargo is 86 containers with a pine shield imported from Russia, which was sent to Yueyang from Changsha station. In Changshu cargo arrived by rail, the train crossed the border at the station Alashankou.
The opening of the service was a major achievement for the railway services of Hunan Province, as well as for the Yueyang and Changshi municipalities. The new service will allow transporting up to 10 thousand TEU annually.
In the future, the Yueyang authorities plan to make wider use of the advantages of the city port located on Yangtze, which will allow developing multimodal services combining delivery by rail and river. Which will certainly contribute to the development and diversification of the export-oriented economy of Hunan Province.
